Honiara, Solomon Islands; The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development MEHRD, has publicly released the 2015 Pre-service and In-Service list for Solomon Islands Government scholarships.
Several things stood out from the list and according to our Lifhaus roving reporter, "...it seems like the government has decided to be more transparent with the awards since it has provided a list of everyone getting scholarships and even the institutions they will be attending both regionally and internationally."
Suva, Fiji; Not only are our girls turning heads at the 2014 FIBA Oceania U19 Championships, local referee Tommy Daffie was also officially appointed as a referee in the tournament. He has used his opportunity to its full potential and SIBF officials reported that Daffie has not allowed himself to be overwhelmed by the experience. "Instead he has thrived in the games he had been able to participate in during the competition."
Suva, Fiji; At the conclusion of pool games in the 2014 FIBA Oceania U19 Championships, the Solomon Islands women have qualified for the Division B playoffs. According to SIBF executive Uriel Matanani, the women will meet Papua New Guinea in the first semi-final and will have a chance to compete for gold in Division B if they are able to win against our neighbours on Friday.
