An 'Express' Disappointment

<p>Some ship owners are failing their responsibility to the travelling public with appalling frequency.&nbsp; Lifhaus reports on Pelican Express's cancelled trip.</p>

Lifhaus early this morning found himself at the Pt.  Cruz wharf among rushing passengers bound for Western Province.  Much to the disappointment of the passengers, a lone crew was on hand to inform the passengers that the Express Pelican was not sailing as scheduled.  Instead passengers would now wait for another week before sailing to the Western Province.

Lifhaus has spent the early parts of this morning reading through the Bills & Legislation Committee's report on the new telecommunications bill.  Certain interesting recommendations were proposed by the committee, mostly favoring Digicel's suggestion for amendment to the Telecommunications Bill 2009.Digicel coming soon

Customers raise questions on import guidelines

Reports from the Solomon Star recently highlighted certain Chinese business houses questioning the process to clear imported goods from the Custom's Division.  The Chinese Association has also intervened to clarify concerns raised by these business houses.  While there is geniune concern raised by importers on the process; the customer also needs to get proper answers from both the importer and government.  Some Honiara residents who spoke with Lifhaus have raised questions on whether there are any guidelines on the quality of goods brought into the country.

<p>Our Telekom has launched its redeveloped website.&nbsp; This is a &quot;soft&quot; launch.&nbsp; Sporting a new red look, the website is a clear shift away from its old website.</p>

Our Telekom has rebranded itself both in name and in appearance.  Corporate colors have been changed to red and the latest addition to its makeover is a redeveloped website which was "softly" launched last night at 3:25AM.  "A soft launch is standard industry practise which allows customers to get a preview of a website.  Using feedback and allowing it time to see how the website performs in the real world allows developers to tweak it until it meets expectations", the developers commented.
