I remember the Late Solomon Mamaloni getting his bag of betelnut hrough Brisbane Immigration to share with friends. it was part of a luggage this famous politician never went without. Bart Pasia during his many commentaries at Lawson tama never went without his dose and no one ever seemed to mind. The City Council mayor chews it, its part of a tradition that is still going strong.

Then again.. considering the many shops and Judging from the Price of Rice .. I'll just go back to thinking not so loudly

Curtailed dreams, Devande stripped off title

Posted on October 28th, 2009 by Administrator.

Days before Devande was set to take the Fest'napuan music show by storm with his award winning song "Everything", a slight overly zealous slip has cost the young and upcoming singer his one moment of glory.  After being declared the winner of the Pacific Break 2009, Devande has been stripped off the title when organizers declared that the song was originally recorded by the OneTox band which effectively contravened one of its most important criteria.

"But which is Lollywood?" asked the female.

"The confectionary section at Village 6 cinemas in Suva!" answered Mere Male 2.

"So what would we call it in Honiara?" asked Mere Male 1.

Potential Honiara candidates begin trek to elections

Posted on October 26th, 2009 by Administrator.

Potential candidates in all the Honiara constituencies have begun ground work to consolidate their candidacy in next year's national general elections.  Lifhaus sources reveal that some of the names being mooted are very prominent Honiara residents.  However, what chances they have to actually win may depend on their ability to "build on the negative publicity being launched against the government and offer a better alternative," said a regular Lifhaus political commentator.
