Makuru will start league depleted, Uncles look good

Our Lifhaus soccer correspondent reports that a HFA powerhouse, Makuru will start the remainder of the Premier Division with a severely depleted squad.  "Most senior players have left for greener pastures.  Batram Suri and Nelson Sale have left for Vanuatu.  Alick Maemae is being actively sought by Navua.  Commins Menapi is already with Marist and one other senior player looks set to leave for studies overseas."

The Solomon Islands Government has released its Pre & In Service Awards 2010.  The much anticipated list has been published today in the Solomon Star.  Lifhaus acquired a copy and is pleased to provide the list online.

I didn’t ask for his age but my judgment was quick to decide that he must be eight. He managed a shy smile in return for my facial sympathy. I fell for one thought straight away, this little kid, whom I regrettably did not get to ask about his name, must be one of those typical robust little villagers. His rat tail (long pony tail at the back of the head) and kiddy looks were sourly showered by broken limbs sustained from falling off a Ngali nut tree. In fact, his right forearm and leg were broken.
