Double Monday excites Our Telekom customers

The "soft" launch of Our Telekom's new 2.5G/3G network finally drew to a close today as the excitement of the specials on offer were finally put to test with customers.  The Sales office at Telekom Haus, at Point Cruz was packed all throughout the day, many customers opting to buy new SIM's as well as others who shopped for mobile phone handsets.  But the biggest draw of the day was Our Telekom's Double Monday.

Rescheduled Qtr Finals to start at 11AM Thurs 27th

Games that were not played yesterday will be played beginning 11AM today.  SIFF confirmed that the lights at Lawson Tama are not functioning as they should and that was the reason for yesterday's postponement. This was after the first match went into extra time forcing the second quarter-finals to start later than scheduled.

Koloale come back to oust Marist FC

Koloale pulled off a brave come back in the second half of their quarter final match against Marist to win it by 3 – 1 after trailing by one goal at half time.

The match will be remembered as the coming of age of many young players from both teams as they rose to take over the mantle from some of the former big names. The stars of the match were Koloale’s Ian Paia, Francis Lafai, Steve Saru and Marist’s Tutizama Tanito, Ben Hibiscus and Michael Oiramo.

The 2010 edition of the Our Telekom National Club Championship continues to come up with surprises and the biggest surprise of all was saved for the quarter finals.

Most people were expecting Makuru to use their quarter final meeting with championship new comers Rendova Devon as a training match for the semi finals. The result, however, is beyond the wildest dreams of Rendova Devon fans as they saw their team upset the former O-League and Honiara Football Association league leaders by 2 – 1.

Rendova Devon frustrates Koloale with 5-3-2 formation

Rendova Devon pulled off a magical effort to share points with Koloale in the Our Telekom National Club Championship Group B match played at Lawson Tama on Saturday. The match ended in a 0 – 0 draw but it was filled with action and scary moments for supporters of both teams.

The defensive format set up by Rendova Devon was enough to keep Koloale’s big names from finding the back of the net for the entire match.

MARIST ESCAPES SIPA ATTACK

Marist narrowly won their match against a strong Sipa side that mounted an offensive almost equal to their opponent’s. The 3 - 2 score summed up the match which saw the 2 teams share equal possession and time in opponent’s half.

Marist came into the match on the back of 2 defeats and 1 draw and needed a win to salvage their chances of making it into the quarter finals of the Our Telekom National Club Championship.
