bemobile mobilizes an army of orange men

It was rather heartening to witness a new mode of advertising as bemobile's highest ranking official, CEO Julien Constaury, took to the streets yesterday to hand out T-shirts and caps to pedestrians in Honiara yesterday.

Our roving Lifhaus reporter was on site to witness the fiasco, at least that was close to what it was as people scrambled to get a hold of the freebies, on the main streets from Ranandi to Point Cruz.  "He was working really hard - sweating profusely but clearly enjoying himself and he happily posed for our photograph" said our reporter.

bemobile will be aggressively marketing itself in the coming months as it seeks to bite into the market already monopolized by Our Telekom.  One of Lifhaus's reliable sources highlighted that "the people who will buy a mobile phone and use it may have already been taken up so bemobile will simply try to wrestle these people from Our Telekom.  To attract new customers prices must come down and the affordability must also come down."

People also commented that it is rather an impressive sight to see the company's CEO actively involved in marketing or even taking to the streets to meet the common men.  "Amusing, but an interesting approach - have you ever seen the Our Telekom CEO on the streets taking part in its marketing campaigns, this is different and I think bemobile is sending out a very strong message to the public saying - we care and we are part of you."

By 3pm in the afternoon, little bands of orange people were already found in town.  "From the people cleaning the sidewalks to groups of friends eating beetle nut on the sidewalk, orange was the color of the day."  The T-shirts were simple designs with a large bemobile logo in front with its slogan at the back "be connected. bemobile".

"I think it is a catchy marketing phrase as it captures the very essence of mobile phone telephony, staying connected and being mobile." said one those lucky people who got a share of the freebies.

Our sources also informed Lifhaus that some Our Telekom employees were among the many who flocked to get a share from the freebies.  "I am not sure if this is an indication of people's enthusiasm for bemobile or was it simply the fact that something given for free will always attract just anyone."  Either way, competition is here and it is slowly but surely rearing its head.

cultural practise into Bemobile

Visitor: little history in Solomon culture tells me that most people (public) always flooded to new development when established in Honiara (Solomon Is). This development could be seen from past as Charity fund, manufactured goods, transportation services etc. People just run for it without thinking twice about it (critique). If this is our cultural ways to approach new investment then the Bemobile will capitalize on it in and within short time it hook up public. I anticipate if Bemobile serve the people of Solomon Islands best they will prevail. Their strategy direction must be precise and that is to serve the public at larger with minimum cost.
Let see what next for BEMOBILE

yessss! i got a t-shirt but i

yessss! i got a t-shirt but i was lucky i did not get caught on camera looking silly pulling and scrambling for the t-shirts....ok good on you bemobile, now you see all sorts of orange people in town....quite honestly, orange blo bemobile hem stand out tomas....in a crowd it sticks out of all the rest......poor telekom, they made the wrong move, oketa stealim color blo Digicel (they thought it was the best marketing move ever) only to learn later that kabani by come ya hem orange yet....now its too late to change colors.....hahahahaha
anyway, on a more serious note, i was thinking to myself all the t-shirts they brought may have been swept...probably thousands but how many of these t-shirts will actually translate into mobile phone owners?  honestly not very many BUT here is where telekom needs to be careful, if they come with offers that are close to being freebies, thousands by sweep!...be weary, Solomon Islanders are strange  people!  Otherwise most of the people I saw getting the t-shirts are hardly those who can afford to buy or even mantain a mobile phone...then again, I am only saying!!!.....you never know!!!
