It's truely a war of the mobile operators. The new entrant with it's colourful orange and 'hem solid na' slogan' and truelly cheap mobiles (Alcatel) with advance features such as camera selling only for $299.00.
The Telekom counter was 'It's karage wiki' for it's famous double up for any topup/refil you pay them. U get $200.00 worth of calls for $100.00 or $100.00 worths of calls for $50.00 etc..
the only unknow factor is Be-mobile rate.
Telekom rate is $1.50/minute (cheapest in the pacific!)
Hope Be-mobile takes the rate down to $1.00/minute.
and we can all enjoy calliing our loved ones at home.
bemobile can call to Telekom but not the other way. who is blocking who?
Telekom have to be careful here else will be losing to customers to its new competitor. since telekom customers cant call to bmobile subscribers, bemobile seem to have the upper hand.
my personal opinion. look at it this way. in any communications you have the origin and the destination. So the call is initiated on the bemobile network and the destination is the Our Telekom network. normally what is known as a 'handshake' is initiated in digital communication. imagine it like a normal human interaction. let me use BM, for bemobile, OT for Our Telekom.
BM: Hello OT
OT: Hello BM
BM: caller 5685855 wants to talk.
OT: hem like tok waitim who?
BM: 74716329
OT: OK, connection established.
and 5685855 and 74716329 tok happily ever after. User1, I think from that small illustration, you fala save conclude who is blocking who. maybe somefala lo Telekom save givim come some fala stret tok tok moa.

" I've been trying to contact Our Telekom mobile phones since monday (30th Aug) but could not get thru. The message I have on my phone was, "Phone number not valid." Nogud hem part lo 'karage wik'. I assume it's OT working on its system to be a step ahead of the new entrant. Appreciate some news on this, eps. when service (mob.ph.)will be up and running again - calling from certain countries overseas. Best!! and let the 'war' begin."

All interconnectivity scenarios between Bemobile and Our Telekom should have been resolved by now.
Some slight delays due to certain parties rushing installations.
But distaem iu bae save call from BeMobile mob to Telekom mob and fixlines and vice-versa.
For person who enquired trying to contact Telekom mob from 'certain overseas countries' but not successful, there's several factors that may cause that to happen and not all of them would be Telekom's fault. The phone number you tried to call may be invalid - ensure it has 7 digits with 74 or 75 in front. SI country code is 677. It may also depend if country where you are calling from has opened up Telekom mob numbers in their various switch platforms. But the quickest way to get your prob confirmed is to provide the mob number you are trying to dial and any Telekom person can confirm prob for you at their switch..Staka telekom staff save read read lo hia ia..
according to star, be-mobile rates are $1.10 to $1.60 and telekom rates $2.70! Someone above states it's $1.50/m for telekom rate.
some karage analysis blong me nomoa or as telekom posta says, karage wiki blong hem with it's double topup/refil.
1. assume telekom rate is $2.70 then it's double up means you're making calls comparable to $1.35 per minute (still too expensive yet)for $ spend.
2. if telekom rate is really $1.50/m as someone above mentioned, then it's karage wiki sales is comparable to making calls at $0.75/minute for $ spent.
be-mobile will need do more than it's intoductory rate and telekom need do more aggresive awarness of it's call rate than solstar as a source of call rates.
Why trust Solomon Star? They have a knack for writing outdated, ill-researched information. Probably pulled it off the internet somewhere. Telekom rates have been halved since July 2009 (now $1.50/min) and SMS is $1.00 local and international. Another important consideration is Our Telekom charges per second, meaning you only pay for what you use. You use 6 secs, you pay for only 6 seconds. Does beMobile charge by the seconds or for the whole minute? But we at Lifhaus agree that Our Telekom needs to do a lot of work on its awareness. If the country's premier daily still reports incorrectly; it does show that the company's PR is not doing all it can to advise people of reality. What surprises us even more is that the half price adverts were carried on Solomon Star front pages for months! Full page adverts were also made on all dailies especially Solomon Star. How the reporter still missed that escapes us at Lifhaus.

SMS local and international is now $0.50 on Our Telekom...try it out for yourself...wat i can say to all you pips out there...educate yourself by trying out who has the better coverage... and quality...don't be fooled by the prices u see on the other-side...wait for a couple of months and then u will feel how expensive it is for a company to operate with profit in mind...Lets up see more crap from the NME..lol
karage wiki, now karage sales. Tumasi now Telekom...
Expect more surprises from B-mobile next week.
I wont be that surprised if B-mobile offers 70 cents per minute.
How masi more if Digicel join kam. Customers are winners in this case.
Gone were the day's when communication was described by some as the most expensive in the world.
as for services offered, i'm a bit dissappoint with re appearance of 'net work busy' again. This was supposed to be long gone many months ago.
I don't care if Bemobile goes down to 2cents per minute...u cannot keep this up for the whole of your ops...i don't benefit from them...i benefit from Our Telekom..but thank you 4 being here finally...the prices are just a bait for cheapies...one u lo dea, aia bae oketa jes try 4 upum price 4 mekem profit n ia...4 those of u that want to try it out...Go 4 it...mek sure u read the fine print...hehehehehe
