Our roving Lifhaus and several Fishing Village residents were left stunned when a local fishermen, Masolo Waneasi, showed up with two gigantic catches, first on Sunday and again on Monday night. "On Sunday night the fishermen arrived with a 3m shark which he was unable to haul onto his tiny canoe so he tied it onto his canoe and paddled with it back to the village."
Then again on Monday night, the Mr. Waneasi shows up with a gigantic 2m grouper. According to reports reaching Lifhaus, the fishermen claims that he caught the fish just offshore of the village. "He said he caught the fish in deep waters facing Fishing Village." said our reporter.

Fishing Village resident Rose Gwali said "We are very surprised because he claims to have caught the fish just near the village. We have seen big fish being part of our fishermen's catch but to catch one so close to the village is what is most surprising." Ms Gwali happily posed with the fish "so that I can remember it when people talk about it in the future."
Lifhaus also sent the pictures to the Ministry of Fisheries and they responded by identifying the fish as Etinethelus Lanceolatus which can grow up to 2.7m and weigh 400kg. However, the ministry was unable to provide an explanation or substantiate the fishermen's claim that the fish was caught in deep waters close to the village. "But villagers at Fishing Village claim that when boats are moored offshore, especially fishing vessels, always attract all sorts of fish so this fishermen could be right."
Our roving reporter said that Mr. Waneasi decided that the fish will be cut up and then sold in pieces the next day. When asked about the catch, Mr. Waneasi admitted that he had been surprised by what he caught at the end but he is a fishermen and catching fish is what he does best. "I have grown up with the sea and I understand when and how to go about fishing. This is not luck, its all part of what I do." No doubt, Mr. Waneasi looks to be a very happy man after these two gigantic catches.
