Did someone read Mr. Samson Faisi's letter about the Honiara City Council Clerk?  Calling him Neo-Colonial?  Well exactly the same thing can be said of Mr. Hemmer.  Where he comes from, he is nothing!  Here he is CEO, mega rich businessmen and what ever else he wants to be.  If he went back to the US (like he should when he first came) he would be working his ass every day and still cannot own and dictate things like he does in the Solomon Islands.  Solomon Islanders must wake up; the whitemen is using us to make himself rich.  At the end of the day, we are simply encouraged to run after RCDF and con parliamentarians...and beg and complain and waste time that can be put into good use...to help us develop.  nafu lo conim umi na!

today's (23/7/10) solstar paper front page is good news. Not that i don't like Hemmer. If there's no better candidate for the job apart from him then i see no reason why he can't be re-instated ,save for the deals with his company which should be dropped in the deep sea.

Well, I am not trying to defend Mike. What i was trying to put across was he is a naturalized solomon islander as such he is a citizen just like you and me. What is there to accuse him of let the evidence speaks for it self. At least give to a human being ( a solomon islander citizen with the same rights as you and me) the respect. As i have read in the above constructive criticisms, stated are the facts that Mr. Hemmer is a Naturalized Solomon Islander, a citizen of the country that must be given the freedom and rights as all Solomon Islanders are entitled to. By having this freedom then he is just another Solomon Islander equally chosen maybe due to his academic/work experience as an adequate choice to run the company in question, why look at this any other way?. Suppose the Scenario that if you were a specialized deep sea diver from the Solomon Islands who migrated to America, became a Naturalized citizen, then upon obtaining a job such as the head of deep sea diving/exploration..etc, found out that you were being criticized for having that top job, and the critiques arguments state that if you were in the Solomon Islands then you just be another poor deep sea diver since there are lots of us this qualified. If they took your job away for this reason then to you as a former Solomon Islander now of a naturalised American citizenship, this would be purely racist, and unfair. All citizens are equal... qualifications and abilities are what sets us apart.

Yes we are being cheated by foreigners, but not all foreigners!, some are genuinely here for good, i am not saying Mr. Hemmer is any of the two, you decide, but what i am saying is not to pass judgment too quickly, as most foreigners that are here to cheat their way into exploiting our riches would never take up citizenship, the thought alone of sharing our 3rd world economy and standard of living drive them away from anything more than just exploitation, therefore Mr Hemmer's naturalised status is something to think about??

But i agree with letting a Solomon Islander take the top job, even though most top jobs run by Solomon Islanders..Our Parliamentarians!!.. are mis-managed.

Maybe we should look at this with a different perspective, such as the case with the monopoly of Telekom, if there is such a monopoly of top jobs being held by foreigners then we as Solomon Islanders should not just merely complain and run our mouths at the first instance..this is shameful.. we should look at it as competition, step ourselves up, bring it us up to standard, affirm ourselves into competition, take back the top jobs, and show them we can run our own country!!. Its worked for America/Australia/New Zealand, and many more countries that invite skilled workers/graduates from abroad, they offer citizenship to these people when we are yet in some aspects primitive in our resort to drive them out!, give foreigners a bad look and bad reception for no reason. I was in Malaita and witnessed my fellow malaitans chasing away a bunch of foreigners, they had thought these people were here to exploit them, little did they know they were from a religious group trying to save lives!, maybe it is our lack of education... funny to think we have promises of building a Malaita based University when even the primary schools are not looked after, havent the leaders forgotten that you need to get through primary and lesser levels of education before reaching university!.

well i guess im getting carried away here. just some food for thought.

I am not racist here but would just like to share my idea.
Whites took Australia and America -Native Aussies and Americans is hardly to see or hear them now because whites dorminate them!!!! In many working places, Whites always want locals to look up to them.RAMSI came to help but all of its financial spending goes back to Australia!!!!!
