Lifhaus has and will continue to suffer downtime for a uncertain period of time. Speaking with the Lifhaus News Desk, our Senior Lifhaus Administrator revealed "there are ongoing technical problems with the service providers Our Telekom to keep their entire web hosting infrastructure online. We have been in contact with the company and they are working on resolving the issue."
When asked on how much more time Lifhaus users will experience the downtimes, our Senior Lifhaus Administrator explained, "some things we cannot control and this problem is one of those such things. However, we are already looking at alternative solutions and one of them is to quickly finish overdue work on the new Lifhaus site and deploy it sooner then expected."

He also explained that as a back up plan for Lifhaus the technical team is already looking at the possibility of providing an offshore mirror site to ensure that the website remains online even if Our Telekom should experience similar problems in the future. "This is going to be an expensive exercise and since Lifhaus is already a site built and maintained by volunteers, we do not have the kind of cash necessary to provide this solution. But we are seriously considering this possibility."
However, he also said that one of the reasons to host with Our Telekom was to establish and reinforce the idea that locally produced websites and content should remain in the Solomon Islands. "We also have a slightly nationalistic agenda so hosting with Our Telekom and having them back us up with providing this opportunity for us to host locally is a source of pride for us."
Lifhaus will keep its users informed of progress in this front. "We hope that our new site will be ready and Our Telekom has assured us that it is also a more stable environment which will help Lifhaus keep its users always updated on the happenings in the Solomon Islands."
Incidently, the Lifhaus News Desk has been unable to produce stories on the site since the problem and this is the first opportunity the news team has had to post a story. Lifhaus apologises for the downtime and we hope this will be resolved shortly.
