Locally, we have more than one news website providing news about Solo and overseas. Dynamic news websites means news is updated at least everyday.. A dynamic website attracts users like me (who are overseas) to check that website everyday for any latest news. Sites that are dormant, static and not updated will not attract users. So sponsors may not want to advertise on your website.
Island Sun has just launch the news website recently and the latest news I can find now on their site is on Tues 23rd Feb. It makes me wonder, why create a news website when you cannot maintain it? Their other competitor, Solstar has done this really well. News is updated daily. Readers like myself would like to visit their site eveyday, so as SolomonTimes & Lifhaus because of the open forums where anyone can share ideas.
May this be a good marketing point for our dear friends at Islandsun to maintain their site. Remember you are a news website, everyone expects news everyday. Otherwise, divert your expenses to other useful means to market your products.
On another note, I've heard there's another newspaper in Honiara, Sunday Isles. Can anyone comment on the effectiveness of this paper? I mean Solo is a small place, how can different papers report on different news so that we dont have a particular news duplicated more times?
