Marist's dismal run finally ends at Lawson Tama

Despite strong verbal warnings issued on the local media, Marist's dismal showing at the O-League has finally come to a pathetic end at Lawson Tama this afternoon.  An impressive Hekari victory condemned the Solomon Islands club champions to the gutter.  Henry Faarodo and Alick Maemae scored each scored in a 4-1 victory which sealed Hekari's impressive run at the O-League.  Marist scored a consolation goal through veteren striker Commins Menapi.

John Kapi Natto has finally realized his dream of taking the team to the finals of the O-League.  Hekari has not ruled out the possibility of bolstering the squad to compete against the winner of Waitakere and Auckland tomorrow in New Zealand.

Hekari's win rendered any result in Port Vila useless as only a draw or loss could have stopped Hekari claiming pole position.  Lifhaus sources in Port Vila were not able to provide us with the results of the game in Port Vila.

A fan who has closely followed the O-League commented, "we have seen how politics can ruin everything.  Marist had no business competing in the O-League and becaue of SIFF's politicking they competed, won against more deserving clubs and now we have seen the result of that short sightedness."

Lawrence Nodua who covered the game for Lifhaus said, "we all knew Hekari would win - some of us just went to see how they were going to do it."  He further added that Marist had their chances but the Hekari defense was simply too strong to penetrate.  "Hekari also dominated the game and they deserved to win."

4-1 the final score, Hekari will now await the winner of top of the table clash tomorrow to find out who it will play for a chance to compete in the World Club Championships.  "It is disappointing after competing in the past two finals and eventually end up in the bottom this year."  No doubt, SIFF will have already felt the heat but this latest result will only add to the belief that SIFF's decision has eroded Solomon Islands competitiveness in the O-League.  A disappointed fan also adds "SIFF should not even allow Marist to defend its crown in this years National Club Championship, they are not even fit to do that." Lifhaus will provide photos of the clash shortly.
