Read this news "Copra sellers in Russell Islands and Savo in Central Islands Province are reportedly cheating buyers with sub-standard copra and phantom copra in the form of stones."

When are we going to accept in general as a society stealing is wrong? Never?

We are creating problems for

We are creating problems for ourselves.....This kind of attitude must stop.......Imagine if we only have one buyer of copra....When we rob him in situations like these..He does not make profit...He in turn stops buying copra....Then who will buy our copra?

Greed is killing the nation slowly...

too true

sore long copra buyers iaa. The copra sellers are simply resorting to getting some $$$ for their sweat. i agree that this is not the way to go but as a copra cutter for RIPL before, it was all hard work. Some one needs tell these poor farmers the truth that the buyers are not profiteering from their products. The same goes for local products eg. the green coconutes sold at the markets.

A) man climb coconut/huskem etc.. makes $0.30/coconute
B) truck owner makes $0.70/coconute.
C) man buyem coconute at $1.00/coconut (from A)

buyer makes $1.00/coconute (coconute sells for $2.00 to $3.00 to public).

Ating time for govt helpem people and controlem price.

Sad realities

hahaha...top day. At the grassroot it happens from some illiterate and literate individuals. At the higher echelons, it happen within the government systems and professionally concealed. There is no proper accountable systems, i tried tenders for government contracts, I couldn't get my hand on....Actually there is capacity to do works for government but can't....some people have a bigger share.
I reported a few cases way back, but could not have those mentioned in courts...Some police are snakes!!!
National politicians do fishy deals that apparently were not justified by commonsense, but were legally accepted and justified...what a life!!!oh yes and the RCDF and politicians
If academics and professionals corrupted the systems, let alone politicians, what do you expect from the rural grassroots who experience the difficulties of monetary benefits or development.

I said nothing but sad to know that this happens as humans continue to strive to make ends meet....When will we become a bit more financially secured and not to involve in all this??? How long will we be like this or how can we strive to get out from this "poorness"? such a sad reality!!
