Fiji is hosting the prestigious event for the first time ever but with lots of enthusiasm they're planning a bigger and better show.
Fiji Online quotes the chairman of the Hibiscus event group, Dansukh Lal Bhika as saying "the experience of hosting the Hibiscus Festival had given the committee confidence to host bigger events.
Other Pacific Islands normally host the pageant over one evening but Fiji would spread judging of each criteria over three nights, with the crowning to take place on the fourth night."
The event which is scheduled to be held at Albert Park in Suva, the famous grounds of the locally renoun Hibiscus Festival, has been earmarked to run from the 21 and 28 of November.
The main feature will be Pacific Island art.
Already confirmed as entrants are contestants from 11 countries American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, New Zealand (Aoteroa), Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga and Tuvalu.
Solomon Islands will be represented by Miss Millicent Barty who won the Miss Solbrew Sports and Culture earlier this year
