Amidst the political uncertainity that continues to grip the nation, Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo has named his first batch of ministers. Lifhaus sources have revealed that 12 former ministers have retained their same ministerial portfolios. Prime Minister Lilo who has said he will not resign in the face of public pressure is hopeful he will avoid the same fate of Snyder Rini whose tenure was shortlived when Honiara went up in flames at the eve of his election. While police was better prepared this time, the same level of resentment for this result remains a very real threat to the NCRA government.
Amongst those who have retained their portfolios is member for Central Honiara, Moffat Fugui, who retained his position as minister of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology. Mr Fugui who was also nominated for the position of Prime Minister prior to the election of PM Lilo has apparantly returned to the government fold. Dick Ha'amori who was listed as nominating Manasseh Sogavare has retained his portfolio as minister of Education and Human Resources.

MP for Temotu-VATUD, Clay Forau who defected to the Opposition also returns as the minister of Police while MP for East Are Are, Andrew Hanaria returns as minister for Communication and Aviation. "It is interesting for us to see these four MP's being reinstated into their positions early on."
"A lot of the ministers that we have seen so far are those in the former NCRA government who have either remained firm with the government including those who seem to have convinced the Prime Minister of their allegience. But the important ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Development and the Deputy Prime Minister's position remain unfilled. It seems that the Prime Minister is very cautious about these portfolios and will name those who can maintain the resolve of the NCRA government."

Lifhaus sources reveal that it is very likely that government will finalize its list of ministers by Monday 21st November. Ahead of another motion of no confidence, Prime Minister Lilo does realize that playing his cards right can determine the long term future of his tenure or destroy it.
Our political commentators reveal that "the situation is still volatile and a few influential members of parliament are still unable to fully demonstrate their allegience to the new Prime Minister. Clearly, the most important ministries are still unconfirmed which shows that the Prime Minister may be using this as his final bargaining chips."
Lifhaus News Desk also understands that government is cautious because the public has clearly shown their disapproval of the Prime Minister elect. Unlike his predecessor, Prime Minister Lilo stepped into the position with serious allegation still hanging over his head.
Lifhaus will bring updated news on the formation of the government in future editions. "At this time, these are the ministers that have been confirmed by our sources but we will see a clearer picture when they are sworn in and all other ministries are filled."

I am also worried why Lilo
I am also worried why Lilo has not named the full cabinet. Then Opposition wants to move a motion of no confidence for the 3rd time. For what ya? Just because a few thousands injured 6 policemen? How sapos umi chnagim constitution for people na choosim PM? Because this time every member no servim interest blo constituents ya! Oketa tingim portfolio nomoa as #1 priority! SELF na big.
Me tingim umi should also garem upper house wea people na electim and feom which MPs can choose a candidate for
PM wea umi too by castim vote for. But before dat one oketa MP eliminate until 2 candidates nomoa people save vote for.
Den umi should garem lower house wea made up of 1 rep per constituency but oketa people ya must be selected based on qualification and merit. They work with PS and line ministries to formulate government policies into actions. Any plan must be scrutinized and passed by lower house before hem kasim upper house for approval into law.
Umi livim lo dea fast time.
