I met people who've gone to church on Saturdays and so passionate about it. Their passion is so high that they can't even eat pork. While that is a human right, the bit which they often seem to look down on other demominations is not so good...samfala no kakai pig pig, no waka lo Saturday bata swear and way for duim adultery biki lo ota tu...wati kind law nao umi bae followm ya man? Mi still bae likem yet nao man wea kakai pig pig nomoa, waka lo Saturday nomoa bata love wea hem garem for neighers blo hem is so great that he doesn't go to the point of destroying his or her neigher's families (02 business)...or hao ba?....
a typical example, my grandpa went on a work related trip with other collegues to Western Provinces sometimes ago...A member of their team is a SDA guy. They didn't know that until they offered him a pork luncheon which he thankfully declined to take...no hard feelings..they went on with their meal leaving their friend to the choice of food that suits his religious beliefs...everything set...BUT THE POINT that tabela caused stares happened later that evening...that same guy (already married accordin to my grandpa)was seen hunting around for girls..."oh god!" were the words on some of the minds that day...well if kakai pig pig ya hem sin, wanem nao story lo kind nara way ya?...married finis bata luk around for samfala moa ya...lol....think think nomoa
Religion and how you choose to practice it is really up to each individual. However I do not condone Religions or even denominations of the Christian faith imposing their beliefs on others. It is a fact that one's Religion is a more because of accident of birth rather than choice. This even apply to the denomination one is in. The amount of people who choose their religion or denomination are very few. Sapos iu born insaet Catholic, SDA, SSEC etc family most likely bae iu blo church ia tu ia.
The recent debate that has gone on in the media recently has reminded me of something i heard a while ago, "religion divides people but spirituality unites them". Reading the newspapers since last week mekem mi barava confuse na! People are quoting this and that verse of the bible to prove a point. This makes me wonder are the different christian faiths based only on people's interpretation of the bible? Hem luk luk olsem ia! We call ourselves a christian nation however instead for iumi one bik hapi famili iumi argue moa lo olketa samting wea iumi shud no argue folom.
Anyway i don't go to church and this ongoing debate has proven my reason for not doing so. Religion is only to keep us sane and help us through this life on earth. How can the afterlife be different for so many different people. There is only one thing that is certain and that is we are born we live and we die. What happens after? Well we will only find out when we die wont we.
By the way I love PORK... it is the best food on this earth...yyyyyyuuummmmmmm!
Dont be too general here... And no body is perfect! Just because hem 02 or whatever you discourage na... The scripture is there for you to read.. If you are too interested on that topic then thats good for you.. Keep searching the scripture and then you will find out yourself.. One thing is for sure 'Power of choice hem lo u na'... Me SDA but mefala no forcim man for convert come... Hem choice blo each individual na.. Just because boss ya SDA hem no meanim that bae hem no commitim any sin na... Satan bata waka strong too ya lo each individuals... I think hem nmoa for today! Seed planted!
I think this is a very simplistic, narrow view of the issue! So just because Catholic priests have been implicated in numerous child sex abuse, it makes their religion wrong? Ultimately, religion is a body of belief. Its your relationship with what you hold to be true. It is never about what your fellow adventist or catholic believes in OR what they do in their life.
@Solo4life.... Thanks for your comment...true blo u...I think I did forget to mention that what I saw was a practice of a minority.
Having said that I think my point was, sometimes we are too carried away with the rituals of food and day keeping that we over look the basic things that make this life meaningful. Love, respect, kindness (which includes talking and making a point in such a way that doesn't bring grief to another friend(christian friend for that matter))..Anyways that's just a thought...How to live life is a personal choice...As a human being I'm just exercising my freedom to look at the issue in another spespective. Maybe a thing which we (including me) must not brush aside to make our practice of faith doesn't appear hypocritical...sore idea nomoa ba..
I sympathize with anomynous and know where he's coming come. I think it all depends on one's upbringing and the way he was moulded in early years that affect the particular fellow he mentioned. It's kind of phobia for most people that were taught in the early years they probably take denomination believes as excuses.
I'm not an SDA but was bought in a culture where, many edible things (fish/shells,molluse etc) are being frowned upon if you eat them (olsem tis time favourite blong me hem otopus and squid!).
The promiscus fellow mentioned is no saint, but then irrespective of which day we worship/keep holiday, we are all God's people.
It's is my believe that there are many sinners in SDA's as there are in other denomination and religions and vice versa (save for the population ratio).
May the Almighties above bless the earth and save as many souls possible.
thi wan hem wan sensitive issue one thing we should do is love each other as christians. Umi say christians but umi tok abt other denominations olowe olowe for wat? luk luk back lo umi seleva fastime. how day ba hem servim umi or wat?. today lo solo hem sabbart or sunday lo nara country hem tuesday, or friday or wednesday so what na day hem really mekem for umi? and who na creatim day? GOD nao every day hem blo hem no blo umi wea even 1 hair umi no save mekem. Jesus christ once heal ppl on sabbat and he is the only Judge, no wastim time for tok abot nara church prayer to God and he will guide you and bilieve in miracle.
Denomination is a vehicle of christian belief. All denominations are under the christian religion and have a common belief, they believe in God and His spoken words in the Bible.
The only difference is the interpretations of the spoken words. Some interpret the actual meaning of the spoken words while others interpret the literal meaning of the same spoken words. For example, when the Bible said to "keep the sabbath day holy", some referred to as the actual Jewish Sabbath calendar day which to the modern calendar, is the Saturday. Other faiths interpret its literal meaning that the sabbath day is a day set aside for God. So any day set aside for God can be your sabbath day as the Bible does not say to keep the Saturday but Sabbath day (literal meaning).
Some denomination believe in religious or physical actions which are external so man can see. Others believe more in internal actions as more important than external actions. For if the internal is structured, then it can manifest itself outside. In other words, what is inside determines what is outside. So if people are seen committing all sorts of sins (adultery, stealing, etc) then it is because it is corrupted inside (heart). Some are smart to cover the corruptness inside by doing right the external religious actions (such as not working/playing on Saturday, not eating pork, not drinking beer, going to church every Saturday or Sunday, etc). Does this not sound as what the Pharisees and Hypocrites did in the new Testament?
My point here is that denomination have different belief systems, so it is not right that one denomination to accuse the other because they are different. SDA, United or Methodist, Catholic, Anglican, SSEC, Protestants, Apostolic, Evangelistic, etc have totally different beliefs systems and they function differently from others. They are like different parts of the body - head, hands, legs, nose, etc etc, doing different functions for a common goal - that is to edify the whole Body, which is the Church. What would the Church (Body) be like if everyone wants to be a leg?
So no denomination is wrong, they all believe in God and in His spoken word, the Bible. They have their own interpretation of the Bible and their own belief systems. What if this same God has ordained all these different denominations as different parts of the body, His Church, would you say that a certain denomination is wrong?
I hope we all learn to appreciate each denomination and learn to support each other.
My point is that... No followim what man hem duim or talem.. Iumi should followim what Jesus hem duim or talem.. Simple as that! Infact what Jesus hem talem, hem duim too ba! So we should have Jesus as an example to live our lives..
If you think he (SDA person refered to in the first instance) is a hypocrite then hem side blo hem and GOD na ya bro... So no worry aboutim what hem duim... what hem duim bae hem no savim u and me... You decide to do things yourself because you have the power of Choice to do so... The decision you make and actions you take is between you and God...
I am not perfect.. Infact no body is... Every one in this world are sinners nomoa ya and commits sin... Im 100% sure about that! But Jesus hem die for sins blo iumi and coverim iumi wetem new name 'Christian'... And so we should sin nomore... And it is important to know that being a christian is the same as to say 'having a christ like character'... So we have to follow what Jesus hem duim or talem... that is how iumi should live our life as christians.
Brada Anonymous me no garem any ill feelings lo u or anyone... Because iumi share nomoa ya... You correct me and I correct you to perfect our lives for Christs soon coming...
God bless you and our country!
Dry Rice u barava hitim target. mi not SDA bt mi garem aunties/uncles & close relative were all SDA.at times mi save joinim all for prayer on sabbats but wan tin all always talem mi is my church is not a true or gud church. Solo4 real cheers
@Solo4real...I did take on board your valid comments. There's nothing wrong with keeping the Sabbath or restraining yourself from part taking of any kind of food. If we do that as a means to glorify God, who is man to cast judgement on the one who engages himself or herself in such acts?
I wouldn't stress this enough, less we forget, let's not over clothe ourselves in the rituals (food esp) and forget about the tiny things that matters most in life...
true church hem described in the bible..and will only be manifested in a true believer...its in the human being not built with bricks, sticks, iron or glass...all this will burn down to the ground...you can only find it in the WORD!...you and GOD alone!

PM referred again and again to leadership code. finance minister trying to cover his tracks around sol air. toilet matter is present in the drinking water we pay SIWA to deliver to our houses. The RIPEL dispute just goes on and on and only because of the sticky hands of politicians and opportunists have the sniff of money. The quality of our kids education has collapsed, just look at the grammer in this thread. landowners around honiara are getting more impatient and their demands are very unrealistic but the Government is not providing leadership to help solve that issue. We have the court cases of the mining companies wanting to work on Isabel because of a Minister acting improperly, most of the investors we attract to Solomons are those investors who are not welcome any where else. Have you tried to get medical treatment at No. 9?
Too many people like to drive round in a dark glass taxi with music thumping and SB going down with someones daughter in the taxi. Em nau wea blo solo distaim
What day you want to call the sabbath is up to you.
Hahaha! YES I AM Real...Off course those issues are important as well... But not as important as what God tells us Christians isn't it? For those are earthly problems...
Thats not what the bible says my brada.... What day to call sabbath is up to the BIBLE not you, me, adventists, catholics etc... So study the bible for hem talem iumi what day is the sabbath.... Y the Bible? Well Bible is the word of GOD (What God Hem Talem)... You cannot deny that my brother... Y call on GOD when iumi no followim what hem talem?
So yeah, Sabbath hem important issue for iumi for discussim. :) :) :)

only thing is its funny when people argue about the sabbath day when they are content to live in Sodom and Gommorah
Life must be tought being a christian. i'm packing up now so where about sodom and gomorrah?

No body is perfect! If they live like sodom and Gamora... Then let GOD be the judge here! Only thing iumi duim is followim Big man (GOD). What God talem na iumi must duim not what man hem talem or duim.
