You must upgrade your system to Windows 7 if your system runs Windows Vista. Many software programs that aren't run properly with Vista seem to work well with Windows 7. In fact, Windows7 and Vista S2 aren't so different. I am so excited cos many of my old stuff that were incompatible with Vista are now working well.
Need a few to celebrate this weekend!
Have a great weekend wantoks
But if you cant afford, try Fedora 11
Windows Vista is not a popular choice yet, most major organizations are still using XP. But Going Windows 7 is definitely the way forward only once you have the $$$.
If you are keen in exploring different Windows and Linux OS on your single machine, try the virtualization technology. Downloand a free copy of WMware and a blank virtual machine and install those different OS on your machine, get a comparision between their feel and taste of each and decide which one is best for you.
Infact virtualization is where you can model your network, that is, if you are keen and interested in modelling LAN services like DNS, DHCP, NAT, email, web, etc within a hybrid environment with Windows and Linux.
Been using Windows7 for the last 6 weeks and found that it also comes with its own virtualization tool to install Virtual Windows XP on your Windows7 platform. So you can always use both on your same platform.
Anyway @Conservation, go celebrate lo lawson tama today na, watchim marist & tafea.. ha ha...
Have a great weekend guys! I will definitely watch this game on the sports.telekom.com.sb website. Thanks to the Lifhaus team and Our Telekom for this privilege.
Have not had any negative things to say about Windows 7 so far. Microsoft must have finally got something right.
Dual booting Windows 7 & Fedora 11. Have to say W7 really has a lightweight feel about it, even a bit more than Fedora 11.
@conservative, i would be interested to know more about your experience with what softwares are now working on W7 which previously did not work on Vista. Have not used Vista much primarily because it was never a great OS right from the very start.
@wakabout, we are deploying Red Hat Linux as webservers and will use VMWare to run virtualization on at least 1 server..the idea is we need to run a good stable OS as the underlying OS while offering multiple versions of Windows (Server 03 & 08) and some instance of another Linux flavour. Glad to know you are vouching for VMWare.

I have been using Vista Home Premium and upgraded it to Vista SP2 and found out alot of my softwares were not working well with it. I was given this Symantec Anti-Virus software cos I couldn't afford to buy it for myself, and it had some serious issue.
(FREE Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition for Students, Faculty, and Staff
PC Version 10.1.5.5001
Macintosh Version 10.2
(as of 05-11-09)
Vista 32-bit and 64-bit Version 10.2.3.3000
(as of 06-25-09)
I installed it and tried to run it and somehow the comp. returned a note that this Symantec is not compatible with my system, it runs it but some parts in it didn't work well....I went back and ask something else: I was given a choice of AVG, Avast, and Norton 360.... I chose Avast although the other two seemed to be good ones.
I also had Photoshop 3, which runs well in my XP system well, and a System Mechanic Professional software which I used to run with XP. No garem seleni so mi installim olketa when I upgraded my System.... They didn't get along well with the Vista OP. I had to buy PS 7 and also upgraded System Mechanic Professional before Vista hem happy. I also had a Vimicro Webcam which I bought a few years ago and had been using it with XP and when I installed it with VSP2, gosh it didn't show anything! haha. I went a bought a longitech one before hem waka.
I also had issues when I installed "Microsoft Word 2003", I had been having issues with it. I had to get the Microsoft Office 2007 beofre hem waka gud. The funny thing was that we upgraded our systems to Windows 7, I tried out all my software, and most of them work pretty well.
I find Vista very easy to use as far s the internet is concern, but it had some weakneses as well. I think that is why Microsoft quickly created W 7. Last year, XP beat Vista in sales and I think its neck-to-neck with Vista this year. Window 7 may solve some of the issues Vista has. I still familiarizing my self with W 7 and yet to pick out the goods and bads....
